What a heap of shyte!! There have been something like 19,000 complaints, im sorry but there has been no racism, maybe bullying but no way racism. Its annoying how sensitive people are, its as if they are looking for things to complain things about.

Cultural ignorance, bordering on racism.

Right, that's the end of that matter, let's talk about you and Daisy!
#5
What happened that is being complained about?

I heard about that in the paper, its a load of pish. And heres another thing, if white people call black people 'Black' or '******' its racist and is not acceptable but if black people call white people 'white boy' its perfecty normal..........
#8
There is no racism they are just culturaly ignorant and that all, and me and daisy are going strong thanks...
#10
I dunno it is bordering on it..

I remember one of the girls (dunno her name, they're not proper celebreties) saying something like: some insult + "...and put it in her curry" *starts laughing*

Its like Bernard Manning saying "I'm not racist, I tell racist jokes."

I don't know where you live but around here you can say 'Black' and no one gets offended. "N*****" is a very disrespectful word and it is very understandable that people would be offended considering its history...

And if you're offended by "White Boy" then you're pathetic

the only thing that pisses me off is the same old shit where if a white guy says ******, they get lynched. yet if its such a disrespectful word, why do black people use it so often? A word is a word, it's what the person saying it means by it that's the issue. Most black people i know sidestep this and just say if i white person says it, racism is rife.

Someone's a wee bit behind.

I don't watch Big Brother, so I don't know, but from what I've gathered it's just been people bullying her (due to her being a bitch) and some racial comments being made. Which happens every day, BB is lucky to have gotten so far with little or no previous racial complaints.

It's offensive because when white people say it, it's a way of singling someone out. It's like saying "You know what annoys me about you Indians..." as opposed to "You know what annoys me about you..."

You wouldn't call a person in a wheelchair a 'cripple' would you? But it's ok if they refer to themselves as a cripple because they're just poking fun at themselves.

Thats only here, in Africa the N word is ok for them, calling them black is an insult though.

They're landed at what now? Big Brother 11348? Anyone who watches a show with cameras in an apartment filming people and it isn't Funniest Home Videos or porn needs a life. I'm tired of reality shows, people taking advantage of people who will not get paid to make millions....... maybe I should make my own reality show.

just because Amercian history x is rasist does'nt mean that some comments people make are'nt rasist for instance if i say 'that black bastard should go home' thats rasist although im not being violent it does'nt mean im not being rasist

You totally missed the point, i dont get offended by getting called white boy. I am white........the point is there is a double standard. White people cant call black people black but its perfectly acceptable the other way around. And calling me pathetic.........maybe you should f ucking read the comment right before you start talking out your arse!

She's been dropped.

What is going on I think is one of the best things about BB. It allows us to observe people at their worst and in their truest form. It's fantastically interesting and I think we should take note. It shows us the reality of how many Britains actually feel. At best they are misinformed, at wost they are covert racists, but convince themselves otherwise. When under pressure, the truth tends to come out, albeit in an exaggerated and overblown manner. Compare this to Michael Richards' outburst.

The terrible shame about this all is that there has to be a victim. She should be reminded by BB that she can leave the house without delay at any time she wishes. It may seem odd, but even though the door out is just there, it can be impossible for people to see it sometimes. I wouldn't take her out, but I would repeatedly make sure she understands how easy it is to leave.

Interesting points being made, really depends on the context I suppose.

Basically minorities have a certain right to be offended (Black, Gay, Fat people suing Mc Donalds)

While that's a point, it's not always true. I have a half-caste friend, who calls herself that despite it supposedly innappropiate, and does everyone else if we're ever discussing it for whatever reason.
My brother also broke his back a few years back, was in a wheelchair for a while, and we call him 'Brokeback Jack' because we like to rhyme his name, really. But it doesn't matter as long as the term isn't used in a derogatory manner.

I can't believe people still watch Big brother. If they actually switched off their television and lived their life, they'd be experiencing the same thing but without anything to complain about. Big Brother is not only a load of mind-rot shit, it's also more synthetic than a pirate's leg.

I'm so sick of this "racism" crap. It seems like anytime a white person does something to a minority, it's immediately racism. For Instance, if a white guy beats up a black guy, its racially motivated, but if a black guy beats up a white guy, its just assault.
#40
i think sometimes there are double standards when it comes to racism for example in the media if a group of black kids beat the crap out of a white kid its reported as assault, if a group of white kids beat up a black kid it becomes a racially motivated attack.

aswell around my college a lot of black and mixed race kids who were born in england, lived their entire lives here much like their parents feel the need to talk with a jamacian accent and say their roots lie in africa.

now there are theories that suggest we all came from what is now africa anyway, so i could claim that my roots are there aswell, but i don't im english, i was born here, so were my parents and i have no problem with that .... i have scottish ancestors but i dont claim im scottish because of it so i don't see the need for them to play up to a supposed heritage that really has little or nothing to do with them, because of this segregation becomes a problem with all the "yardies" and wannabe rappers sitting in groups and giving shitty looks to anyone white that goes past, yet a lot of these people are the first to accuse someone of being racist.

also, the other day a kid i know from down south who considers himself "gangsta" called me nigga ...... im white and he's from essex
