Hi got the shure sm57 just today. there are no connection leads with it of any kind. How can i connect this to record sound to my pc? links to what i need would be appreciated.

No they don't make XLR to 1/8th.

Make sure its mono mind.

Not really, you can adjust the sound on the PC, and he'd need one if he was recording more than 1 instrument.

Oh, it didn't even come with a connection lead? Try GAK maybe?

you can get the 1/4 to 1/8" adapter at a radioshack. For the cable just get one that has a female XLR and a male 1/4" end. any music store should have the cable if not both.

Running an SM57 through a computer's preamp is a waste of a good mic... I'd get at least a small Behringer mixer and then run the tape out into the line in of your computer via a RCA to 1/8" stereo y-cable. If that's really not an option, those other adapters will do.
