The Dumble Overdrive Special might be the best valve amp...good luck finding that one.

If you play everything and money is no object, have a look at:

Mesa/boogie
Bogner
ENGL
Laney
Marshall
Vox
Fender
Carvin
Peavey

I think they make some pretty good valve amps...don't you?

what. no love for Hughes and Kettner?

sorry really didnt include info! yer its more for blues and rock but i do like a bit of distortion, really and all rounder amp that has good distortion (bluesy) and a nice clean sound. Ive currently got a Marshall MG50DFX and last time i played a valve i loved it!

ALSO could do with being between 200-400 quid

If you want to go 2nd hand then you have even more options but the JCM800's are my favourite amps so I'll say them, not the cleanest cleans in the world though.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
