Hello,

When I sit down to play with my acoustic or electic guitar I sometimes get a slight pain in my right arm. Well not really the arm itself but more a pain in my back at the point where my arm is connected to my torso, close to my shoulder blade. It doesn't happend when I play standing. Since I'm very conserned about carpal tunnel and rsi and all that, I'm posting this hoping someone will know exactly what's cousing (sp?) it, or maybe someone has a few pointers on proper playing position. Note that I never really play for extended periods of time, and I always do a warming up routine similar to the one John Petrucci does on the 'rock discipline' dvd. Thanks in advance!

I already do stretches during my warming up, and I work out from time to time.

How long have you been playing? I've only been playing for about 1,5 year and since I always do warming ups and stuff like that I don't think it's RSI

The pain is almost gone at the moment, but still very slightly present. The strange thing is that I don't feel it while playing guitar, but I do feel it while doing nothing :S
