well if you keep it it will go up in value, you could buy a mor modern guitar, you know bit better construction stays in tune better, if you modify it though like changing pickups, tuners, bridges ect. keep the original parts. for 8 grand you could get a custom guitar. that would be better, built to your specs

if it's a 1960, you could fetch 25 grand for it. depending on the shape it's in.

If it said 1960 on the pick guard, then it'd be a les paul classic wouldn't it?

Also, I doubt les pauls from the 60's would have the date printed on the pick guad. And I also doubt the threadstarter has the les paul he claims to have.

And ya, I do expect the threadstarter to be a jerk about this post.

Its a Les Paul CLassic its not an actual 1960 guitar take the serial number from the headstock and send it to gibson they can tell you what year it is it is probably from a couple of years ago. either way its a good guitar if it is from 1960 which i doubt it will be worth alot if not you have a really good guitar to play

What colour are the inlays on the neck? They'll either be pearl or yellow tainted pearl.

...with new pickups or pickup covers over the stock ones. But the 60's reissue Gibson Custom Shop makes does have the yellow tinge pearl inlays and comes standard with the covered pickups. I think we need a serial number.

I'm not so sure it's a LP classic. The pups are covered.

But it doesn't look like it's from the 60's.

S/N stand for serial number. Post it up here.
