Just finished downloading/watching their set from Download. It was spot on, absolutely perfect. I enjoyed every minute of it, they really perform well live.

Anyone listened to the "Davidian" cover by Lostprophets? To round up my opinion:

Instrument work = decent
Vocals = horrid

Burn My Eyes, I disliked TTAOE
#174
Any amp settings? I don't understand why there are none anywhere on the internet!
#176
Really? Some of my fav MH songs are from TTAOE, Imperium(CLASSIC) and Days Turn Blue To Grey is also cool. Other than that the entire The Blackening album kicks ass, and so does Burn my Eyes, have a few random songs of their other albums like Silver,Bulldozer,The Blood The Sweat The Tears, and Bay of Pigs.

just finished watching the download footage! holy ****!!! they were great!

i love that little speech he does before Aesthetics of Hate

An ESP Ninja with EMG's, I think. He also has a red see through Warlock guitar that's just brutal.

I saw them live at Metaltown, and it was the best show I've seen my entire life. Machine Head and Pantera blows everything else away, it's crazy.

The Blackening is the best ****in' album so far this year by far. I get so pumped up from listening to it, Robb Flynn's vocals are intense as hell, he sounds like he's going to rip your balls off at some parts.

Its basically a Gibson '88 Flying V (built by ESP of course). But yea, EMG's definatly, but apart from that not much changed.

I think the Blackening is better than Burn My Eyes, actually. BMY's got some stand out, killer tracks, but every song on the Blackening is pure gold. So even though there might not be a new Davidian on there, there's no misses either you know; it's pure quality all the way.

To me, the Blackening will always stand out as one of the best metal records ever.
#190
I totally agree with the above post, although I would say that Aesthetics of Hate is the new Davidian.

"I hope you burn in heeeellll!!!!"
#192
Blackening is perfect in every way. The guitar tone doesn't live up to Burn My Eyes but it is still as heavy as a lot of the crap out right now... which says a lot for BME because The Blackening has some monstrous tone-age.

By the way I took Robb's advice and get high to Halo. **** YOU HAVE TO TRY IT

^Sweet.
Somebody told me that The Blackening and United Abominations were the best metal albums of late recently. Then he told me that UA was way better than the Blackening. I ended that conversation with a palmstrike to his brain.

They're great live. Set from memory:

Clenching The Fists Of Dissent
Imperium
Take My Scars
Halo
Davidian

Great set considering their time constraints (2nd band in a 4 band lineup, one of em being Metallica)

That set is correct I'm quite sure...man they ripped the place apart that day. I think HIM playing in between such killer live acts made them seem even worse than they were. I'm really digging all the blackening stuff though I wish they'd played aesthetics of hate instead of take my scars and then we all could have heard Rob Flynn's dimebag speech!
#197
I'd rather see Now I Lay Thee Down than any song they played, aside from Davidian. Same applies to Old.

You can tell they're probly pretty ashamed of their nu-metal cds, they didn't play a single one of their nu-metal songs
