Curious on what scales/modes Synyster from A7X uses. Someone in the A7X only thread told me he uses "meridian" personally, i've never heard of that. I think a lot could just be minor with some chromatic/diminished runs but more information would be handy.

And you're probably right, it is mostly minor runs with chromatics thrown in.

But if you want, i guess you could say, a dark sound, you should try...

Natural Minor
Phrygian
Locrian
Whole tone
Diminished
Harmonic Minor

Also, I say this to everyone...

It's not what scales he uses, it's how he uses them.
