Ok, so there's alot of Indie essentials here, but not much of the alternative I like. I like Beck, but not too much else that soft. I really like the White Stripes.... any good related bands?

Wilco - A.M. (album)

That album is their first I think, probably their best besides Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, maybe better. This album is very different from their quieter stuff such as A Ghost is Born, it's an alt. rock with some country type tones in there. More people need to know about this album! It is a masterpiece. Well, I'd say some of the lyrics could be improved, but that is pretty much the same for all of Jeff Tweedy's lyrics.

The New Pornographers are pretty rockin', so is Destroyer.

TV on the Radio is completely awesome check out the album "Return to Cookie Mountain" but make sure to listen to it on good speakers preferrably with a subwoofer so you can hear the full range of tones they use.

Also Destroyer, The New Pornographers, David Thomas Broughton, The Decemberists, The Shins.
