Fucked up. Got ambushed. Zipped in.

One of those great, great bands that doesn't get talked about much on here, so I made a thread.

My favorite Fugazi song? Shut the Door. Favorite album? Tie between Repeater and Red Medicine.

My favorite albums are 13 Songs and The Argument. It's rather difficult to choose a single song, but I'd probably go with "Repeater."

13 Songs seems to be the best choice for getting someone into them.

Repeater is ****ing brilliant. One of the best albums of the 90s.

I haven't really checked out their other stuff. I should do that someday. Way too much music, so little time...

I have a good book called Our Band Could Be Your Life which features biographies of 13 bands (including Minor Threat, Fugazi, Sonic Youth, the Minutemen, Black Flag, and the Butthole Surfers). The story of Minor Threat and Fugazi is an interesting one and I would suggest any fan (or even non-fan) check it out.

On that note, I love the Evens.

I was never much of a Minor Threat fan, myself. I always thought they were just a bunch of hootin' and hollerin' over trebly guitars.

The Argument is by far my favorite album by them. It surpasses 13 Songs in every way.
"Life and Limb" is just so off the wall, I love it.

However, I'm still more of a fan of Ian's earlier band, Embrace, and Guy's earlier band (after Rites of Spring) One Last Wish.

Be sure to check those two out.

Joe Lally's new music is on his myspace. Very good. Guess there's a new solo album on Dischord.

How often do you get to say that?

But I never really got into them. Just one of those bands I never seriously sat down to listen to. They are good, but they just didn't grab me. Great live performances though.

Alright, so who do you prefer, Ian Mackaye, or Guy Piccioto?

As a side note, I saw some guy at Safeway today that looked exactly like Guy.

Guy is definitely the better lyricist of the two. I like Ian's voice a little bit more though.

I love Fugazi. Joe Lally is a superb bassist.

However, I'm of the firm belief that their newest work is WAY better than 13 songs/Repeater + 3 Songs. Steady Diet on feels so much more energetic and less grating too me.

The Argument is one of my all time favorite CD's, and Red Medicine is up there.

It's probably because of the increased output of Guy Picotto. I like his voice so much more.

I love these guys. They're incredible. My favorite album is probably Repeater.

Now that I think about it, I actually don't have too much of their later stuff. I'll have to pick some up.

My favorite album is probably Repeater. I can't really pick a single favorite song though, but definitely Ian > Guy. I may be biased because most of the other stuff Ian has been in too (Minor Threat and Embrace mainly) but Guy's great. Fugazi's great.

These guys are definitely in my Top 5 and always will be.

Their later stuff is so much better than their early work. Red Medicine and The Argument are just glorious examples of what you can do with Punk music.

Favorite song? No way I can answer that.

I prefer Guy's voice, too.....
Poor advice.
