all i know is you have to be fast and coordinated....but thats all i know....hope that helps

well... just practice your sweeps slowly, increase a bit of tempo each day. Do it the same way you started approaching speed.

with sweep pickin, you need to have a motion with your picking hand that flows up and down the strings, and with your fingering hand, you play an arpeggio in time with the strum-style flow in your picking hand. the coordination between your left and right hand is the hardest part. after that tho, it becomes easy.

Here's a six-string exercise that I've been using.

e------------12--12
b----------12------12
g--------13----------13
d------14--------------14
a----15------------------15
e--12----------------------12

Mainly, you have to start off slow like wmzbomgzors said.

Also, here's a three string sweep that I've used also.

e------7/12\7
b----8---------8
g--9-------------9

Good luck.

Dont try and be the ultimate speedsweeper at the start, go slow at first and when your hands get coordinated build your speed

Start from good ol 3 string sweeps, SLOWLY until you get it right.
THen move on to 4, then 5, then 6, and then with hammer ons etc.

Try some songs with sweep picking too.
