I'm learning Trivium's Ember to Inferno and I'm curious about the verse riff. It's extremely fast and I was wondering if Matt and Cory play this with alternate picking or with all downstrokes. Anyone know? Thanks.

i was wondering about this as well. I am pretty sure they use downstrokes, but i prefer to use alternate picking. I guess its all about personal preference.

Yeah I'm trying to build up my stamina so I can play it at full speed with all downstrokes, sounds a lot better.

They use downstrokes, but then again they are both amazing guitarists.

I'd use (although I never could be bothered to learn the song) alternate, but maybe that's just me. Downpick if you can, it will make your picking hand stronger, and sound cooler / heavier.
