What is the max you would pay for it?

Is it a good amp for classic rock, modern rock, blues, and metal with the help of an OD pedal?

Also how are the cleans, im looking for Hendrix, John Frusciante (think under the bridge) Clapton cleans and for overdrive im looking for bluesy overdrive through to rock (Guns N Roses, Led Zeppelin, Sabbath, Chili Peppers, Van Halen, Wolfmother, Nirvana, Audioslave) heavy metal (Metallica, Maiden, Pantera)

It may not be able to handle Metallica, Pantera ect. but for classic rock, and maybe even up to a Van Halen type sound (he used a plexi at first right?), its great!

Firstly, how are the cleans on the 900's, as longs as they are as good or better than those on a Fender FM 65R which is solid state or better than a Peavey Valvekings cleans thats good enough for me.

Would the JCM900 SLX 50 go well with the Marshall 2x10 speaker box? (How many watts can the speaker box take)

What is different with the SLX 900's compared to the normal 900's?

Also what would you say is the max you would pay for each item?

i say get a jcm 800. you could get a perfect kill em all tone out of it if you get the 50 watt version.

hmm...

The JCM900 would be more gainy - er than the JCM800
and the cleans are good...

for the speaker box depends on the wattage rating on it...

I'm not sure about the SLX but ask Gabel...

Does anyone know what theyre worth, the guy with the 900 SLX said it would be about 2000 - 2200 new (well they dont make em anymore i dont think but back when they did) so how much should i pay maximum for this one?

Here i come!

Well to start off the JCM900 Dual Reverb is very modern in sound. It's aimed for more shred type stuff. The SL-X are more like a Plexi or JCM800 with loads more of gain. Check out the Mk.3's, theyre very good.

the JMP could do anything exept Metallica on it's own. But buy a tubescreamer and you should be able to get some nice gain out of it.

Here's a pretty good clip of a JMP and it shows it has quite alot of gain.

The MV JMP's are basically JCM800's.

I just looks like a JMP 2204 combo (I like how the seller NEVER mentions that ) His description is a little off. He is saying how it's better than a JCM800 2204 when in reality they are exactly the same. Never-the-less it's still a great amp. It will do all that stuff you mentioned and the harder stuff with an OD pedal.
