This sig was too fucking big. Make it smaller next time, chief.

Go to an electronics store like radio shack and get an adapter, that changes the guitar cable to a regular headphone size. Then plug the adapter into the microphone input on your computer.

u either have to buy some interface which can be kinda expensive or you can buy a mic for ure computer and mic your amp(not sure how good it sounds) or u could buy an adapter for liek bigger to smaller jack i forget the size so u could plug right in

As I_Pwn said, you need an adapter. Headphone jacks are 1/8 inch, guitar cables are 1/4 inch. So look for a 1/4 to 1/8 inch adapter. Shouldn't cost more than 6 bucks.

I was beaten to it, but yea just get a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter and use a regualr guitar lead. One end in your guitar, the other in the converter thing. Then plug that into your PC, im not certain its the best method, but the mic in slot does the trick.

Beyond all that, you can get extra hardware to allow you to record several tracks at once and you can use different techniques, for example using a microphone and recording the sound from your amp with the microphone which in turn sends it to the pc.

not the microphone input but the line-in cuz when you put it in the mic input it sounds like you're playing from far away if you know what i mean

My friend did that with a jack and it sounded horrible... He stuck to his cheap mic he got with his computer.
A guitar is your personality expressed through 6 strings.

whats better, the adapter so that its guitar to line-in....or getting like a line 6 toneport?

His computer's sound card must be absolute shit then.

Probably important to mention it's usefull to have a medium to high end sound card for good results, using a shitty on-board sound card probably wont give the best results.

If it has a good body, a nice long neck and 6 strings i'd hit it like Ron Jeremy on viagra.

Just buy line 6. I did, and it's worth it.
