Ok im in a grindcore band and me and the other guitarist need new pickups and were wanting to know what would be best for us. We play real technical and fast riffs and use alot of cleans. I use a washburn X30 and he uses a ibanez S540QM. We have looked at a couple good combinations but were not sure yet.

1. EMG 81/85 pickups (possible kerry king set)

2. Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz

3. Seymour Duncan Distortion/Jazz

4. Seymour Duncan Distortion/Dimarzio PAF

A lot depends on what amp you're using, but none of your choices are particularly good for cleans, also a pickup with "distortion" in it's name should indicate to you that it's not going to be ideal for shredding...you want clarity, not distortion. You can buy bare knuckles direct from them, yes they're good

Anyway, what amp are you using?

I use a peavey 5150 head into a behringer cabinet and the other guitarist uses a behringer AT-100 head into a behringer cabinet

So your sorted for the amp, might be worth looking into the new Dimarzio D-Activators, or the Evolutions. Duncan wise a pair of Full Shreds might do the business for you,

also does anybody know where i can get bareknuckle pickups and are they any good

bareknucklepickups.co.uk

They are, by far, the best pickups you can get.... but you'll pay for them.

If you wanted Duncan, I'd say go for the Duncan Distortion and the Jazz 59'.
