an in between, thin are easier to play.... but meh more neck more work, which i consider better in the long run.

It's more to do with your hands than anything else.

For example, a thinner (laterally) but chunkier neck might be more comfortable, or a flat, thin (in profile) neck might be more comfortable.

It's really not something you can say with a preference beyond comfort, especially when it comes down to purchases.

Necks affect the sound, too.

I'm not too fond, personally, of the super-thin necks, like the Ibanez wizard series, but if it works for you, then that's fine.

I like a round neck on a 6 string and a flatter neck on a 7 string.

Probably the most comfortable necks IMO is the Gibson 60's slip taper and the necks on SRV strats.
