Hey guys...I'm really into this whole harmonization thing, and I'm basically wondering how to harmonize a piece... I understand you use minor and majors and perfect 5ths etc... But i would like more detail, lots more detail.
Thanks, Skel

yeah me too, like some stuff on how Thin Lizzy or Iron Maiden do their harmonization would be cool.

3rds

C D E F G A B C
E F G A B C D E

That is really useful.

I'm definately going to incorporate harmonies into as many songs as i can.

Also, can someone give examples of bands/songs (preferably well known, but not necessarily a good song) that use 2nds, 3rds, 4ths, 5ths, 6ths, 7ths.. i understand 8ths are the octaves.

cheers

also you can use 6ths. 6ths and thirds are basically the same thing. And the fourth makes for a very descriptive interval. One that bach was famous for was starting a phrase with a perfect fourth and then moving onto thirds. Theres endless possibilities.
