I love Germany. I don't care what the others say, the German Language is great! But I have to admit, Hitler has ruined Germany for me in that I can't stop thinking about what Hitler did to those Jews when I think of Germany, even though he was actually Austrian.

Yeah you can't think Germany without thinking about WWII, but it's an overall cool country with a realy cool history.

EDIT: ...and reminds me of a Thrash Metal band from Germany I saw live, Destruction. Never heard of them prior to the show, but man do they kick ass.
<Omri> I love trannys too..

I have worked in Germany many times and i am there atleast twice a year.Great beer food Ok nothing to write home about, countryside pretty, and the german people i work with have a great sense of humour (not stereotypically dour).IMHO a great place to visit especially around Beer festival time.

I take it this isn't the place for a hearty rendition of Das Lied der Deutschen? I love Germany. Nice climate, great scenery, delightfully gutteral language where chances are that if you use an English word with an extra K you'll get it right. Excellent food, special mention to the idea of Wurst as a snack - nothing better on a cold München afternoon than a nice hot sausage, before we even consider the plentiful opportunities for innuendo. Plus you also gave us Helloween and Blind Guardian.

I love germany...I was supposed to go this summer but can afford it.
I'm taking the language and that is so cool too. Ich liebe Deutsches Essen sehr gern.
I really want to go there and see all the cities and stuff but especially go to the metal fest at Wacken.

German Salami > All other salamis.

Wrong. Although German Salami is good, try Itallian Salami Milano (only get the M&S brand - the silver packets, other brands are shite).

I've had the chance to spend a couple months in Germany. Nice country, food was cheap, roads in good shape. People are very civilized, calm and balanced, i.e. they don't push each other around, car drivers don't yell at each other like savages, etc.

But Germans are also very cold and rigid, they're not really "fun" people, they have a weird sense of humor. Some of their TV programs are also somewhat strange. And German women are generally ugly. Hey, that's the impression that I got, and you DID ask...
Dear God, do you actually answer prayers?

Yes, but only in a way indistinguishable from random luck or the result of your own efforts.

Sorry, I'm blasting Western (Well, British) large supermarket chains at you. I'm sure I can get them there. I'll get back to you when I try it. If it's as good as you say, I'll be very happy.

Great cars, great roads, good beer and food, lovely countrysite, friendly people, and many of the great classical composers were German so it has historic musical relevance.

On the other hand: I've never met a German who had a good sense of humor (i'm sure they exist but the spread is obviously thin), the folklore music (schlager) is terrible and i don't like the sound of the language.
