I bought an Epiphone SG pretty recently, and I gotta admit, its pretty inpractical.

Basicly, its insanely neck heavy. If I stop holding the guitar and just let it slide down to wear it wants to go, the necks pointing to the floor. Not only this, but its heavy anyway, and I can't really play it proporly holding the neck to keep it upright.

I bought it because of the sound, and I was going to buy an LP but I thought that I should be a little bit different. Anyway, are there any SG players out there who know how to counter this problem?

I have an sg...And just about all of them do that. Try buying one of those nice leather straps with grip.

Buy a nice thick suede strap. Should definitely help.
The Laney Thread are big and clever. No exceptions.

Well, yeh, it's kinda heavy in comparison to my strat or warlock. I think I'll have to buy a grip strap, its just this guitar isn't as great as I thought it would be at the moment...

How? Cut the headstock off? Look who's the stupid fvck.

So it adds weight to the guitar but it worked.

How do you know? It changes the axis of the guitar, shifting the fulcrum that the weight would "teeter" on.

Because he had the Tony Iommi Sg which has the strap button on the top horn.

hmm, I just used a leather strap, that helped a lot compared to the car belt thing I was using. It stays still now.
