I think so.

And I realise their are a lot of other Coachella threads, but they mostly deal with the Rage Against the Machine Reunion. Sort of a trivial detail when you consider all the other great acts that are playing.

I can't imagine how you find Rage as a trivial point...I would definitely go for just that.

wow, theres at least 20 acts there i'd like to see, if my maths is any good $12.5 per act.
so if its like that for you go for it!!!
plus the bonus of the festival experience.
sounds good to me.

^Yeah, what a list!!

I know some of the acts that I'd want to see would be on at the same time, but there are so many I'd want to see. And whats 250USD?? Like, £160GBP??

I'd be there in a New York minute if it was in bloody shitty rainy England.

EDIT:

*cough* What?!? R ewe insaynee?!?

The lineup is so eclectic, how can not like anything else there? You'd have to have such a narrow taste in music to say it's not worth your time.

not having a go or anything, but I'm shocked!

Because Interpol, J&tMC, Arctic Monkeys, Sonic Youth, DJ Shadow, The Arcade Fire, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Decemberists, LCD Soundsytem The New Pornographers, The Black Keys, Ghostface Killah, Air, The Roots, Explosions in the Sky, Lupe Fiasco and the Junir Boys are all better (in my opinion.)

Although it's a great line up (for the most part), $250!?
That's a lot of money for three days.

I spose that's only like £150/160 though Andrew. And it is an awesome line-up. Apart from rhcp, but still! I'd do it.

^ Well, thinking about it, yeah, the exchange rate is good at the moment (heard on the news it went up by almost another cent today £1~$2). But still, technically, if you're American you'd still be paying $250, which would probably be earnt in the same amount of time as our £250. So it's not good for them, but great for us, although it'd cost us another £300 to get there.
For £130 though, it would be worth it.

Pfft technicalities. Hop on a jet2 plane for like a fiver

Okay well maybe not that cheap.

This isn't to do with that but it is to do with travel and stuff... my friend and I planning to fly to Wembley in June in her helicopter to see Muse Will probably work out more expensive than the train but hey, should be fun =)

I got eleven acts I'd see.
That's including bands I'm not alllll that into.

So around 22 or so bucks for each band.

But then again, Bjork and Spektor are playing.

But even still, I .....wouldn't go.

Not really into 'festivals'.

That's why I loooooove SXSW.

It's 4 days, all day.

I'd pay way more than $250 to see half that line-up personally.

I know people that are spending thousands of dollars to fly to the otherside of the planet to see this show, so yes, it is indeed worth it.

From this lineup it seems like the kind of show people would be talking about for years after... and something the grandchildren would awe at...

Never been, but I doubt it. Usually at least three stages at festivals, and it's quite a big line-up so if it was just one stage it'd be 10 minute sets.

There were 5 stages last year.

I might go to day one (the only problem is getting someone to take me and getting out of school). Day two is my mom's birthday, so that is a no go (damn her), and day 3 doesn't look too exciting to me.

Man, I was gonna road trip it for this, but it would take me 3 days each way. Its in the middle of the school year so its definitely not gonna happen. I'll likely just hit up lollapalooza this year. It'll probably have a similar lineup. I so wanna see Jesus and Mary Chain though.

Unfortunately, that is how my mother is. I can't miss things like that.

The second day isn't that appealing to me though, anyway. Except for Hot Chip and some others, I don't think I need to go.

I'm not sure that I am going to go at all.
