I am thinking about getting a Dead cd, (weird as it sounds I don't have one yet).
What is the best cd of theirs in your opinion? Is it a live cd?
top axes:
Taylor GS8
Fender American Strat (w/DiMarzio pickups)
Epiphone Les Paul
As far as studio albums go, I'd pick up either American Beauty, Wake of the Flood, Blues for Allah, or In the Dark first.

As for live albums, go with Live Dead/The Golden Road, Europe '72, or One from the Vault.
There's the Classic Rock Recommendation Thread at the top of the page, and the Grateful Dead are listed.

I've always liked Dick's Picks albums more then their studio stuff.
How to achieve Frank Zappa's guitar tone:
Quote by Thefallofman
Step 1: Buy a Gibson SG
Step 2: Insert Green Ringer, EQ, 3 dead squirrels and a microwave into said SG
Step 3: Plug in and freak the **** out.
