im going to start building a guitar for a project in shop and i got to thinking about the truss rod. Its probably going to be a Hot Rod adjustable truss rod, and i was just wondering out i would put it in the neck. Would i just set it in place in the routed channel or do i have to secure it down with a glue of some kind.

You should use silicone sealant (like the stuff used for sinks) on the anchors to protect against any buzz. The truss rod should sit snug in the channel regardless, but you don't want to glue it down just incase in the future it needs to be removed.
