No, bass amps can handle guitars, they just don't have as much high end.

Guitar amps can't handle basses though.

(as far as I know)
DRM, it's killing music.

Yea I really think the only thing you can't do with a Bass Amp is get distortion, unless you have a pedal.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.

It is possible to run a bass into a guitar amp however be warned:

Excessive volumes at frequencies that low can potentially damage your speaker

Driving solid state electronics into clip (in particular, basses tend to do this to the preamps of guitar amps) will wear them out, and you can't just replace the tubes in an ss amp - once it's worn, its pretty much done.

The fender bassman was the inspiration for the original marshall stacks and still gets some bada$s tone

I ran my bass through my tube amp once but I have a bass speaker, does that hurt anything?

well it will probably wear out your preamp tubes faster than they would usually

its alright to do that but my friend blew out his amp by stiking a bass into a guitar amp...what an idiot...
