Yo Yo all... Im pretty close now to getting myself my first valve amp.. pretty much decided on the JCM200O TSL 60w.. Oh yeh... Ive been wondering tho.. one of the reasons I really want A valve amp is to I can get the whole feedback thing going.. Im a huge Vai fan and Im pretty sure thats where I got it from..

Is it really possible to get feedback off of any note and just making it sing?! Or do you have to have specialist gear for that kinda stuff?!

Cheers, synth002

You get feedback simply by turning your volume and gain high and standing close to your speakers.

- Roland Cube 60
- Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde
- Boss OD-3
- Behringer EQ700

I have no problem with you, but that's not going to help your cause any. Sometimes you just gotta "turn the other cheek" to people who criticize.

Vai doesn't have super-feedback abilities I can assure you.

The feedback comes from an amp running at high gain and volume levels. Standing at different positions will allow you to get different feedback pitches. That's really all there is to it. Unless you've seen a video of Vai using a Fernandes Sustainer pickup, where it will keep sustaining into harmonic feedback from any note.

Tap Harmonics...... and a LOUD AMP !!
Tone is all ...... well probably 75%, in your fingers.
The rest depends on your wallet's thickness !!

Keep the faith, baby!!

The majority of the 'tricks' that Vai does on that DVD need the Fernandes Sustainer.

I think the thread starter is just on about when you hold a note out and let it sustain, you get a harmonic feedback.
A recent study shows that 8% of teenagers listen to nothing but music with guitars in it. Put this in your sig if you're one of the 92% who isn't a closed-minded moron.
