In screenshots, I see alot of people using Mozilla FireFox. My question is, what's the difference between Firefox and just regular Internet Explorer, and is FireFox worht downloading?

With firefox pop-ups are basically rare to find and in my opinion is easy to use, and yea it's worth downloading.

I like Shiira a lot more... but FireFox is good. Tabs are "in." IE is "out."
#12
no difference now.. before they had tabbed now IE has that too.. so i use both and they are almost the same..
#14
tabbed browsing, no pop-ups, faster browsing, you can get different skins for it, only a 10 minute FREE download.

there more reasons TO get it, than reasons not to get it

The new IE has tabs, but its such a slow browser, takes about 5 seconds when you hit "new tab". Firefox is simply much better. It has built-in spellcheck (similar to Microsoft Word with the red underlines). Popups blocked a lot, much fewer holes to let spyware through than IE has, lots of cool add-ons for it (my favorite being the mouse gestures).

And just for laughs...

firefox has fewer holes for hackers and spyware/pop ups to get through, thus making it better. i however, like internet explorer's setup WAY better, so i use IE. its just personal preferance.

oh and IE has tabbed browsing now too.
This is my signature. There are many like it but this one is MINE.

Meh, I might as well try it. Can anyone send me a link to wherever I have to go to download it?

Firefox owns so much. I always hate using Safari or IE because I am so used to the speed and simplicity of Firefox. It is so easy to just bookmark a page, and deleting the cookies after you look at porn is so much quicker in case you need to do a quick cleanup.

And the addons make it alot more personal, allowing you to customize everything from the look of the browser to the mouse curser.
#23
Ok, so I downloaded it, and it seems much faster. But for some reason, the add-ons page will not load for me. Any ideas why?

um because you some of the older add ons dont work with the newer fire foxes ( i actually just went through some of their add ons and encountered the same thing). just find others that work for the newer 2.0.1

Firefox is faster, more secure, more customizable, less buggy and in all aspects better than Internet Explorer.

Yes, but only in a way indistinguishable from random luck or the result of your own efforts.

Firefox is so much nicer to use. Want to clear your history, cookies, internet files and url cache in IE? Takes time. In Firefox you press ctrl+shift+del and it's all done. The Adblocker for firefox is brilliant as well.

couldn't have said it better myself.

in addition, having the ability to have numerous tabs in one window is nice, especially when you suddenly have to close them all in a short space of time

Its just faster, easier and customisable. sure, general users won't see a discernable difference, but people who are big web *****s and don't want spyware live by it

but konqueror is better

I can't stand Konqueror. I always install Firefox on KDE.

Firefox was slow as hell when I first got it, but then it sped up, and I noticed that sites where you would get ALOT of pop-ups on IE, you would only get 1 out of about 15 with FF.

Me too. Konqueror is a bit basic.

I use Firefox because it actually displays pages properly, as opposed to IE's botched ideas.

Margin's are OUTSIDE an element, padding is INSIDE. Arrghh.

**** IE. Firefox kicks ass.
