i like the third cause he made it his own instead of makeing a cover...

JerryC is the original writer of canon rock...

i'm pretty sure that also counts as making it his own.

Who cares, I for one am tired of Cannon Rock. Every idiot who auditioned for my Jazz Improv class played it, which I thought was retarded.

Your class :

Jazz Improv > Canon

why the hell would they play that for a jazz improv class though?
Funny words.

because a lot of rock guitar players think they're actually good and can play jazz, under the impression that jazz isn't much different from rock. they fail.

We had to play a piece to demonstrate our skills, but I guess they didn't get the memo that it was a JAZZ class. At one point the professor got mad and said the next person who played it would not even be allowed to take the class.

How true that is. Only one of the people who played Cannon Rock made it into the class because he actually knew theory whereas the other morons only knew that and some Green Day riffs.

Did anyone play it after that?

You mean they play Cannon Rock...and Green Day riffs?

As trite as Cannon Rock may be, I'm sure it's quite a step up from Green Day...

I like the third guy's use of natural harmonics. Subtle but affective.

Hit this once or twice, and you'll be twice as nice.

that guy is still a cunt.

if i was the professor, i'd not only not deny him for the jazz band, i'd break his guitar for being an asshat.

One guy did, and the professor unplugged him.

As for the other people, most of the people who played it were doing it very sloppy, and only played the main melody. But the funniest part was when we had to play from a fake book, so many idiots were lost. "what the f*ck is a Gmaj7th chord?"

number three mkes it his own which i think is way cooler.
so three wins for me
