Hey not too sure if this is the right forum but if its not point me there. Anyway, my school's holding a talent show and I'm gonna play something alone this year and I'm getting bored with the stuff I've got. Anyone know some good solos that a crowd would enjoy? Difficulty isnt really an issue, any suggestions that would sound good alone on a guitar are welcome.

Helps if you tell us what you like to play.

I play all kinds of stuff from classical to shred so it really doesn't make a difference to me what I end up playing I just like to play for the crowd. I think they'll want some energy in it though. I'll check out Rude Mood but keep em coming.

+1 on Satch Boogie, that would definitely please a crowd.

I agree with Beethovens Symphony as well. That sounds so sweet on a guitar.

In all reality anything fast with a good rythem will impress your average crowd. Something catchy, rockin', with a little speed, will win the crowd over everytime. Thats why I like the above, they have a little bit of all of those ingredients in them.

As far as things that non-guitarists have probably heard and get into, Eruption or Sweet Child of Mine seem to work.

There's always one

If you're playing alone you'll need to organise a backing track, and you probably don't want to be chugging chords half the time, so I reccomend an instrumental. Satch Boogie is probably quite a good suggestion if you can pull it off, as is Symphony in G.

hell flippin' yes, if you put half as much feeling into this as stevie does, it's a lock.
also that last couple minutes or so, play behind your back like he does, that would kick ass.
you could also try crossfire, its pretty catchy.

Good suggestions good suggestions I dled pretty much all of them and they all sound pretty good my only concern is that they wouldnt all sound good if played alone. So what I'm thinking right now is a bit of little wing, pause then into "the audience is listening", i think it'll sound pretty cool.
