Guitar hero and female do not belong in the same sentence or paragraph, unless one is reffering to the amount of females a guitar hero has slept with

Alexi Lahio?

And the girls from Kittie make some people wanna pick up the guitar and play some nu-metal stuff. (I accidentally wrote "nu-metal sucks". No word of a lie.)

um Joni Mitchell. duh! where do you think Jimmy Page got his famous DADGBD tuning from? or Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young got their weird tunings from? Even Thurston Moore from Sonic Youth cites Joni as a massive influence in his alternate playing style, especially his bands weird tunings as well.

I know there are a good few female guitarists/bassists but to be honest, as much as i'd love to fly the flag for my gender, if im completely honest, most women are mediocre. Thats why i put so much effort into playing guitar, ive been playing almost eight years, ive played in a fair few bands and i refuse to be a stereotype.

I dont think its sexist at all to say that as far as averages are concerned men apparently do make better guitarists, thats not a limitation its a challenge for me.

I've also played drums for almost 5 years, now i think a good female drummer is rarer than a blue moon and im not talking about a women being able to tap out a simple 4:4 beat. You can jump on the feminisim band wagon as much as you like but the facts are there.
