i think it duct tape to stop the strings getting caught on the pup when doing massive divebombs

dude i know the pick ups are two different covers im talking about the pick up ring. Notice on the top and bottom of each something black covers the pick up

EDIT The tape thing is what i was think just wondering if it was tape or something special

it is tape on eachs side.

dime did that to his original so the strings wouldnt catch on the neck pickup when he did those insane dive bombs

How can you write that after several explanations? READ THE POSTS! The reason you but duck tape there is because heavy divebombs can catch the neck pick up and that doesn't sound too great.

Yeah its there for the divebombs. Not because it will sound bad when they get caught under. They are there so when you release the bar, the strings dont get caught and snap when the bar pulls up.
