I got a G-400 Custom epi SG. I replaced the pickups with dimarzio evolutions very recently. I wanted to put a flyod rose in but the sg is too thin, so i was thinking a bigsby trem!/ this is the one i was looking at http://www.bigsbyguitars.com/products_b500.html i read about it and it said for solid bodies such as SG's, FireBird, Lespaul..... Pro's and cons?

Wait- True Vibrato? A Bigsby you can pull up on? Correct me if I'm wrong.
By the way, that Bigsby would work great.

yea man like almost all bigsby are true Vibrato now. look around on their sight. That would be so fun to play with pulling up while soloing in pentatonic on the highest octave you can with TONS of distortion thx for the post il probably buy it tomarow XD

I would get a vibrola...

I just think they look a lot nicer on sg's than bigsby's do.

http://www.bigsbyguitars.com/products_b70.html One like this would look alot better, in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure those don't work on SGs, the 7s are designed for archtop guitars, while the 5s are designed for flattops.

Frank Zappa putted a 5 series on his Goldtop Les Paul, that means you can put 7's on flattops.

And BTW:

If i'm right,Vibrola's are way more costy then Bigsby's.

What?

That really doesn't follow...

The 5s and 7s will work on an archtop, but the 7 isn't made for a flat top, the 5 can do either.

And idk, for the american made bigsbys its around 180, how much are vibrolas?

If you were looking at a Floyd, the Bigsby probably won't be what you want, at all. Bigsbys are for some subtle vibrato. Anything more than that will put them outta tune.

Yeah, at most, they can do a 1/2 step up, my friend.
But you're then in danger of pulling the spring out.

you can get a whole step up on em, especially if you get a roller bridge
