After going through a brief stage of listening to nothing but The Promise Ring-esque bands, I've come back to my "oh man I love melodic crap" stage.

And Im running out of bands.

So, I eyed the Emo Essentials thread, and found some good ones.

But then I found a quagmire. Christie Front Drive has no downloadable Albums on teh internetzorz, along with all of the other good bands I found in that thread.

So, recommend me some good bands UG!

Im looking for bands that are kind of similiar to:

The Appleseed Cast
American Football
Explosions In the Sky
Christie Front Drive

Godspeed You! Black Emperor
A Silver Mt. Zion
Kayo Dot

Boris
Ahleuchatistas
Menomena
Sharks Keep Moving
Yo La Tengo

and if you want more Promise Ring-easque bands
State Route 522
Congratulations On Your Decision To Become A Pilot
Q and Not U

that should keep you busy for a while.

Stop using this to promote your band

And thanks to everyone who offered suggestions.

Your last job only paid you $7.00 AUD an hour? That's like $6.05 in the US. What the hell is the minimum wage over there?

lol.

Anyways,

I've already got I Hate Myself covered.

As a few of the other bands posted, but thanks anyways.

And has anyone ever heard of Dutchland Diesel? I have no clue how I came across them, I think they were in Neutral Milk Hotel's top 8 on myspace or something.

But ya, they're a great band. I'd suggest them to anyone in this thread, minus the Sum41 kid.

The only problem is that they are virtually impossible to access...

Check out Car Vs. Driver and Empire State Games.
Honestly can't think of many more at the moment, but those two are well worth a look if you haven't already.

EDIT: Oh, a couple more whilst I remember, Ethel Mererve and Kossabone Red are both worth checking out

Why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bullsh*t in order to be comfortable?

That's when you know you found somebody special. When you can just shut the f*ck up for a minute, and comfortably share silence.

umm is anyone forgetting about AFI! maybe there not liek 100% emo but they do have some emo songs...and its uniquely cool how every album they write is different from the last. Not many bands, if any, do that.

P.S> theyre guitarist Jade Puget is amazing. XD

Hmm.. try The Beautiful Mistake, they have harsh screams on occasion but it's pretty soft (like an awesome mix of Dashboard Confessional and maybe like Bullet For My Valentine xD)
