teacher twice a month for like, 6 months, then self taught the rest of the way

but i admit, its dam hard not having a teacher

my teacher motivated me alot. plus to the beginner, theres so much to learn, and its confusing as were to start

Self taught right hand.

I don't think there is much difference. Taught, you get taught the official way and learn theory and everything, whereas self taught you can figure stuff out as you go and make your own style which isn't necessarily better or worse.

There is pro's and con's to both. Who cares.

With the help of UG and reading I got rid of that easily. But anyways, there's some players who anchor their wrists. I'm not one though.

But I agree, bad habits can develop.

I teach myself but only because I have weekly piano lessons which keep my sense of rythm etc. My dad gives me a hand with techniques and stuff.

If it wasn't for Piano, I would get a teacher.

I've never had a teacher, but I wouldn't say I'm self-taught. The internet is my teacher.

Anyway, I'm "self-taught" and I'm right handed. I've been playing for like 2 years and 9 months.

i play the same as you...found it hard with my right hand at first

gets easier the more u practise tho.....just keep playin through any riffs or songs u know and then try harder things.

#29
I have learned all the techniques by myself, but I've learned the pentatonic scale with a teacher. So I consider myself a mix between the two.

Self taught for thirteen months. I may look into getting a teacher, but not any time soon. Right handed, by the way.
