hey,

im looking at the digitech hot head, screamin blues and bad monkey pedals. they are all in my price range and ive heard good things about them. i like a very crunchy classic rock overdrive. think the who, cream and led zeppelin. im not looking for something that can do very, very heavy but enough to break up my signal nicely and not colour my tone too much (im partial to tele bite and twang). which would suit me best?

thx a lot

i have the mad monkey, and i use it fro classic rock, blues, clean boost and solo boosts.
its an awe-inspiring pedal.
great crunch for classic rock, and sounds great for cream, zeppelin, sabbath, AC/DC and other forms of classic
and its know to be a very transparent OD, so it doesnt color the tone of your guitar

DOD 250 is just as much, even less, and sounds better.

and ODs should color the tone of your guitar.

Cheap amps are "that bad". They suck up your tone like cocaine at Kate Moss' party.

should color the tone?
i dont know a lot about this, but if you used two completely different guitars, why would you want them to sound exactly the same through the same OD?

because ODs are meant to imitate an overdriven tube. it's like a distortion pedal, but smoother. you want distortion pedals to color the sound, don't you?
