OK, I'm making a CD of songs, mostly short instrumental scores that were probably used for movies but now they're used everywhere from dramatic entrances in TV shows and stuff...

This is something where you either know what I'm talking about, or you don't...but I'd really appreciate if anyone knows some names of songs like this...sorry I can't explain better but thanks anyway

Plenty of classical is like that.

The climax of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, for example.

T-Rex - Get it on

Dont know if its used in any movies but Ive heard it on TV several times...doubt many people know of T-Rex apart from guitarists
It would be like somebody saying, "I don't want to use words to talk, I want to just go by feel, I want to rub my penis all over them. I don't want to talk" - John Frusciante's view on people who don't want to learn music theory

Adagio for Strings - Samuel Barber, also know as the Platoon Theme, considered the most tragic piece of music ever written.
