I'm trying to portray the image of alcoholic obsession, not as a plague, but as an attribute, a quality, a significance. So far, well, this is what I've come up with. As usual, I've been using one of my lyric-less songs as a foundry of inspiration. Crit for crit, of course.

Broken bottles surround me
Like my wholesome family
Father Schnopp's prevents drowning
As soon as the walls start talking

You're distorting reason
Such a boring re-run
Compose an occupation
Of blasphemic sine qua non

(Killer Guitar Riff)

Thats, uh, actually all I have at the moment...

what does sine qua non mean?

also, i think you should have somebody shout "Killer guitar riff!" when you get to that part

I like your concepts, it sounds like it'll be interesting once it's done.
crit for crit huh? I'll be posting rap lyrics just for that

^sine= without
qua= i forget all those forms
non= not

Sine Qua Non is like the "requirements" of something.

Thanks guys!

okay... can you explain what the second stanza means? cause im just not getting it.

Also, am I correct in interpreting that you're basically trying to sing about alcoholism but without the negative stigmatism that is usually associated with it? More from an observational point of view than a "alcohol is bad" sort of thing?

This is spoken throught the words of myself, pretending that I'm drunk. I'll be working on this tomorrow, so I'll post the rest, finished and revised. Perhaps it'll make more sense then.

As well, I described what my aim for this song is at the top.
