I am currently looking for a new amp and came across what seems like a pretty good deal. Its a Traynor YCV80Q 4x10 All Tube Guitar Amp that I can get for $750-$800. I'm not very familiiar with this brand, so what do all of you think about it? I play alot of different things but I want something with a nice distortion and warm cleans.

traynor?? never heard of it...carful with off brands i bought a Kustom once it was a 20 watt amp and i paid 100 bucks for it and it sucked big time

^It's not too much of an off brand.

As Dave_MC would say, it's a great amp for the price. Personaly, i have no experiences with them, but I hear they're really good!

Go try em' out.

Traynor has a good reputation, and they aren't really an off brand. Check harmony central for some reviews and play one if you can, although there don't seem to be many places that carry them.

Traynors are amazing amps you really cant get anything better for the price. Excellent warm cleans tones. I would check out the 50BLUES its a 50 watt tube amp so its louder than you need . But whatever your decision, make sure you retube the amp with JJ's. go to www.eurotubes.com, email Bob and he'll help you pick out new tubes. Honestly the difference between stock tubes and JJ's is like night and day. These amps have not nearly reached their potential with stocks tubes. Either way great choice and these amps have an amazing warranty

They made some awesome vintage shit. Oops, shouldn't have told you that! From what I hear, the new amps are pretty good too.

Does this sound like a good price for this amp. It looks like I will be saving $150 off the Musicians Friend price.

i guess you should look at the 40 and 50 too... the 80 will be extremely loud (good if that's what you want). that's not to say the 40 and 50 aren't loud. The 20 is nice too (it's 15 watts for some strange reason).

and traynor aren't an off-brand.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

^ there are several dealers now in the UK, they aren't anywhere near as good value here as in the states, though. google the traynor website, there should be a dealer list on there.

I'm not very familiar with all the different brands of tubes, so how good are those Sovteks that are installed in this amp? Would it be a good idea to replace them with something else?
