Is there any way to get scratches out of the body? I searched, but everything was for minor scratches or had to be used with some kinda tool. I'll take a pic later.

First I thought he meant scratches on a person.

Then I thought he meant scratches on a car.

Then I thought he meant scratches on a guitar.

Then I realized that nobody can really help him until he tells us what the hell he's talking about.

my cousin uses sandpaper to get scratches out. i dont know why. it just makes it worse, then he gets pissed off and then he keeps using the sand paper. He then paints over whatever he sanded off and it looks really weird. It's funny to watch though...

There's some shit you can use to get scratches out of eyeglasses. It works. I used it to fix my watch which was scratched all to hell, and I tried the last of it out on a tiny scratch on my guitar. It was amazing. Now I wish I woulda used it all on my guitar, my watch was only $50.

That's what I thought it was at first. An eyelash. I wiped for like 20 minutes before I realized it was a scratch. Anyways, they don't sell those glasses scratch removing things here. =(

Bump.

And uh. Is it ok to scrub your strings with a rubbing alcohol soaked toothbrush? Would that kill the fretboard or anything?

There are several string cleaners you can buy at a guitar shop.

what, did you BREATHE on it? get a REAL scratch, then post a pointless thread inviting people to give you bad advice or just make fun of you.
This is my signature. There are many like it but this one is MINE.

The folks in the "Gear building and customizing" forum could answer this for you. They are pretty helpful there.

...Dude it's white!!!

Like I said, I usually agree when people say scratches add character, but this a a shiny white RG! I have no Idea how it happened. I suspect it to be that time I dropped the hole punching thing on it.

EDIT: I'll post on the gear customizing page after I give up on the pit. I just thought more people were here.

Hmmm. You'd think both would kill the fretboard.

Any suggestions for the scratch problem?

Thanks.
