I wanna hear peoples serious thoughts on what is happening/going to happen in our world. Cause I gotta say, I'm scared.
#3
well the world is a scary place. No matter what type of government is implemented, theres never going to be a utopic enviroment or country. The thing thats most important is knowing who you can trust, care for yourself, and go after your dreams and dont make stupid decisions and stand up for your rights.

Cause Australia is fine right? We've thrown in our lot with the Americans. I just hope people will take the right path...

Of course. Every problem in the world can be attributed to Bush. It's so obvious! He's the cause of poverty, pollution, crime and racism! If it weren't for Bush, there'd be no such thing as third-world nations! In fact, if we got rid of Bush, no one would ever have to work again and there'd be no disease or famine!

Sorry, but no. And im not trying to get into a political debate here, because I hate politics. The real reason behind basically every problem on this entire Earth is overpopulation. There are far too many people on the planet for anyone to take sufficient care of all their needs. Im not saying it couldn't be a lot better than it is now, but the fact is that any policy or program implemented is no better than a stall. Now obviously we cant do something ridiculous like get rid of a third of the world's population, so I think the only real way of solving problems on Earth lies in interplanatary colinization. And please dont think im some kind of sci-fi geek or something. we are of course decades or more likely centuries away from space colonization, if it ever happens at all. the only real question is, will the human race cause it's own extinction before that time comes?

Ummm... I wasn't making a serious argument. I know Bush isn't responsible for everything. And over population? I don't think that is that much of a big part of the problems this world is facing.

Overpopulation is why the U.S government secretly created HIV and AIDS in a labratory to thin out the herd, if you will.

lol, at first I thought that was absoluetly crazy. Not as much anymore. I guess it's still unprobably, but you never know.

Its not overpopulation itself. Its that overpopulation leads to and is thereby the cause of (or at least intensifies) pretty much every other serious problem you could care to think of.

I can see it being the cause for resources running low. Hmmm, then that would lead the US to invading Iraq for oil, then that would lead to other countries hating America for being a superpower, and that would lead to the destruction of all life on earth via nuclear war.
Now that I think about it that does make sense.

That is so worth sigging.

Anyway, as has been mentioned, the largest problem that we're currently facing is overpopulation. It might not be an extremely large problem right now, but, and correct me if I'm wrong, since about 1500, the population has increased from about 425 million to over 6 billion. If growth continues at this rate, it won't be long until we have to fight with each other to survive. I'm betting that it will be some time around then that a major struggle begins.
However, blaming all our problems on a single cause is ridiculous.

There is more oil in Canada, and we wouldn't have to ship it as far. Why wouldn't we just attack Canada? Have you ever thought past making this country seem evil, just because the media does?

Haha overpopulation isn't the issue and neither is religion per se. It's money and greed.

So you want to remove all forms of currency from society? You want people to stop caring for their own happiness? Yeah, I'm sure that would solve all our problems.

Yes, but that is just one facet of it. Take for example pollution. Now, the average American does not think very much about pollution, but it is a very big issue. Overpopulation obviously intensifies pollution just by the fact that there are more people to pollute. But also there are things like industries trying to meet the demand of a growing population, of course so they can make more money. More demand means they'll want to produce faster, which in turn leads to sacrificing sanitation for speed.

Same thing goes for poverty. If we sat right where we are now in terms of technology, but we had 2/3 of the population world-wide, we would still be able to make full use of our rescources, but we would have 2/3 as many people to provide for. With technology where its at, we would still be able to grow the same amount of food, or nearly so, but we would have far less people to eat it.

Canada's our ally, and we don't have any excuse for invading them. But Iraq had an evil leader we could take out of power so we could look like good guys.
