I went to radio shack today to get some stuff to convert my crate combo into a cab for my valve junior and I thought what I was buying was speaker wire but it ended out to be hook up wire can this be used as speaker wire to hook up to the speaker to the input jack?

Hook up wire? Do you have any pictures of it?

It can as all it is doing is carrying a current, but why don't you just return it and buy some speaker wire, or keep it and buy some speaker wire. Its stranded hookup wire and not solid right?

No, speaker wire isn't shielded. You want non-shielded wire usually as shielded takes up more space and thus has thinner actual wires for the current to flow through.

That wire will work fine.

Btw, those jacks are REALLY crap and wear out fast. Buy some nice ones that will last.
