hey, but clapton is actually stated "God" in the late 60s.
lots of graffitis saying "clapton is god."
that's how him and the others are different. =]

well my favorite and the guitarist who's had the most influence on my playin is slash, with jimmy page comin in a close second, but i think that the best guitarist to play has to be between clapton or hendrix

Jason Becker... he could do it all...
He could shred slow and meaningful, and then unless clear articulate sweeps.

I think Jason Becker rivaled god in power and so god cursed him with ALS...

I consider Becker to be overrated...he shreds waaay too much. But, he sure is an inspiration.

I said Vai, his knowledge of theory shocks me.

A close runner up would be Clapton or SRV, I love those guys.

Interesting, I didn't know that a musician's quality was based on who his fans are.
PRS Dave Navarro signature/Burny RLC-70 - Sonuus Wahoo wah/filter - Vox ToneLabLE - Boss DD-5 - Zoom MS-50G - Modded Ampeg VT-22 100-watt tube head or Peavey VK100 100-watt tube head (6L6GC's in both) - Soldano 4X12 cab w/Eminence Legends.
#25
Though there is some truth in that

The fans represent who he/she wants to speak to through music.

Vai.
Sure I prefer to listen to Gilmour over most of those guys but he would be the first to admit he isn't the best.
Vai can play any style and play it well.

I'm sorry if Zakk wylde were better, smarter and didn't promote himself in the way he does he wouldnt have such a fanbase, I think that reflects alot on his playing, music and character.

Slash. He makes so many cool riffs, like ScOM, Jungle, Paradise City, etc. And although Izzy did more writing than him, never he less, Slash made the riffs what they are. And he is a generally cool guy (If he's not drunk).
#30
Yeah slash is a great player for sure, love his sense of feel. One of the guys who always plays whats just right.
#31
The only reason God is better that Zakk Wylde is because he is getting lessons from Randy Rhoads and SRV.
