So me and my friend played a gig last night. And one of my guitar teachers was there. Guitar teacher from school... its an easy class

Anyway he said we sounded real good and wants to put a band together for us etc. Anway we're going to play infront of the school at the end of the year. So Im so stoked.

But Im most likely buying a new amp along with my freind. Probably a tube stack, because my Crate GT212 wont be able to handle the court yard at our school. Anyway I was looking at marshalls and was wondering what the difference's are from these:
JCM800
JCM900
JCM2000 DSL
JCM2000 TSL

Now I would like to know the difference between tones and what genres they are good in, and if anyone has played some of them before I would like to know what you thought of them.

I play GNR, VR, ZZ top, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy, Sabbath, Zeppelin etc.

My genres range so I would like the amp to be versitile. Im looking for more of a GNR distorted sound. And a clean like SRV. Nice and warm and a hot rodded distortion.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Would I have to buy a overdrive pedal?

Isn't that the one with only one channel? But I heard real good things about it.

Get the 800, no doubt.

Yeah, one channal, one slip of the finger on the volume knob and you're back at clean!

What would be the best over drive pedal to use. Cuz I want a distortion like Page/Slash kinda. What would you guys recommend?

dude theres this guy who made this massive post on marshals,
it's this chart with like 400 reviews, it's helpful, largely un-biased, and simple
I just don't know where it is, someone help him with the chart

edit: I just pressed search and it was like the third one so here you go

Definetly gonna try out the JCM 900, and 800.

But if I get teh single channel 800 what would the best recommended OD pedal be. I dont really like using effects besides a wah, but since I dont feel like walking up to the amp all the time and changing volume or gain up. Cuz like I said I play alot of GNR which slash does that alot, going from OD to clean and back etc.
