It seems alot of people are really into jazz music, i am a blues man and know nothing about jazz but it interests me. Can someone recommend me a good jazz artist or songs to listen to and try to play?
well im sure you like a good guitarist. You sholud listen mike stern "play"album , pat metheny or john scolfield. Those are more fusion but they are amazing. Something more "classical" well wes montgomery was probably the king and george benson. Obviously anything from miles davis and my favourite john coltrane. As a bassist please listen Jaco Pastorious.
Miles Davis
Louis Armstrong
Billie Holiday
Dizzie Gillespie
Thelonious Monk
Nina Simone
Preservation Hall Jazz Band
Duke Ellington
Pat Metheny? maybe? hes got some amazing stuff, and out of this world live tone!
