I hope I'm not in the wrong forum with this one.

I've got a music track that I've got in .mp3 format, and I was wondering if there is any software out there (preferably free) that will allow me to isolate parts of the sound file that I want, cut them from the original file and have it as a single file by itself.

Many thanks

as in instruments: no

as in just a select portion of the sound: try Audacity.
