the OFR is bulkier than the Ibanez' Edge Pro as far as i know. they would both theoretically still have the same range of movements.

I dont know. Which one does everybody prefer? Im going try to get a RG1570, and it has a Edge pro.

It's a bit different, the pivot points are different and as far as I know with the edge trem you can't do that Alexi Laiho thing, you know, the false harmonic.

the Edge Pro "is" an LFR design. It should have the same range of movement as an OFR if the body is routed correctly. It will do anything an OFR will do, including any kind of harmonics, it's working on the same exact principle. Vai had Edge Lo-Pro trems on his JEM.
