voodoo child - jimi hendrix (good song by a crap guitarist)
nothing else matters - metalica (closest they'll ever come to true metal)
can't stop - rhcp (john is not god)
fix you - coldplay (the shredding is top)

Well, I'd naturally say simple stuff like Green Day. You can try Metallica songs with simple riffs? That should be reasonably easy.

If you have Guitar Pro, you can do what I do, and find GP, Power Tab, or Midi files to load into it and analyse songs through that. If you do, I found music from the Lemmings games. Discovered the double harmonic scale, it's usage of modes, and how they sound etcetera.

I'd say find a book with "small" piano/other pieces composed by Bach. They shouldn't be too hard and are made up of more than power chords.

I'm doing Haydn's Sonata in D Major right now and its not too difficult. Actually I'm only doing the first movement, but yea.
