well i'm starting to get all the parts for my first guitar build. I'm using a book "make your own electric guitar and bass".

the circuit has two humbuckers, a 3 way selector with blend knob. two tone knobs with push pull switch to activate tuned capacitor taps for each pickup. and a master volume knob.

the tone control uses a .047 mfd cap for the neck, and a .01 mfd for the bridge. for the tuned capacitor taps, it has .047 mfd in the neck with a 5k resistor. for the bridge tap, .022 mfd cap with a 33k resistor.

now what i want to know is,

a. will my choice of pickups change the components i need to use
b. the book dosn't seem to specify what value the pots should be..

a. No, it can for your desired sound, but isn't necesary.

b. For humbuckers, the usual choice is 500K

EDIT: Look at a.

well the body will be mahogany with a maple neck. and probably rock/ blues, no heavy metal.

also an ebony fretboard, and probably a hardtail bridge.

any tips on hardware, tuners, bridge, etc are very welcome
