I'm looking for a new amp, my fender champion 300 can't give the tone I'm looking for..
I mostly play metal and hard rock. I have about 400$ to spend

any suggestion?

Stretch your budget a bit for a used 5150 combo!
Peavey JSX 2x12
ESP Horizon NT-II
Ibz RG3EXQM - EMG 81/89
Ibz RG270 - Dimarzio PAF Pro/Mo' Joe
Dunlop Crybaby
Ibanez DE-7
EHX Small Clone
Boss NS-2

well personally i have a spider and even tho everyone flames it i'd say its just decent. But you'll probably get tired of the tone real quick, so you can get much better with your $.
The Gearz:

Schecter Omen 6
B-52 At-100 head + 4x12 cab
Yamaha EG303
Digitech Bad Monkey Overdrive

What about this one?

That one is crap, and probably worse-sounding than your current amp to boot.

Once again, the Ashdown would be far better. Most tube amps would sounds better.
The Fallen Angel will be pretty much amazing.

Edit: I guess if you do end up going solid-state, a Randall G3 is the way to go. Choose whatever wattage.

^It doesn't take 2 grand to get a "decent" tube amp.

The fallen angel is a good suggestion. Randall is a good direction to look, as well.
Feel free to call me Kyle.

Just so you know, I read everything you type in a Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs voice.

However, some people can pull $500 out of their wallets and buy a decent tube amp. Then some lucky sods can pull $2000 out of their bums and buy themselves a top of the line full stack. And some can pull $100 out of their pockets and buy a Spider. Which would you take?

thread starter if your not in a band and only play bed room I would recomend Roland Cube 60 or a randall.

I jam sometime (not very often)
a 60 watt amp should enough for now, maybe 75 watt (some are not that expensive)
I know some transitor amp can get very close to the sound of a tube amp

But none will ever get EXACTLY the sound of a proper tube amp. Plus, tube amps are louder for the wattage.
