I really love the look and the cost of this jazz bass, But im concerned about the material and its tonal abilities.

really will it sound like shit?

i would prefer a wood with better sustain than bass wood

Edit: this bass looks better

Those Aerodynes have been around for awhile.

I've played the the Frank Bello signature - can't say I was too pleased with the latter. The body and neck felt awkward to me; the sound was pretty good though.

Fender aerodyne? It's been around for a while now but the precision version is relatively new. Still, aerodyne= Don't worry about the wood.

I haven't tried the Bello sig but it looks really nice.

Why, it certainly is pretty! They reckon it sounds good too.. I bet not many places stock it though, so you're unlikely to be able to try it. Tough one. I ordered the Urge without trying it though. Sometimes you gotta have some faith !

I will say this about the Aerodyne.

I don't usually complement Fender basses, but it is hands down the best bass I have ever played in that price range. goddamn did it thump, and growl. I almost bought it on the spot when I played it. (But I didn't have the money!)

I have an Aerodyne Jazz bass, very comfortable, very light. I've had absolutely no problems with it, one of the best investments I've ever made. At least try it out, it's a real quality bass.

I played one not long ago and it sounded really nice! Neck felt good too
