How many signed bands these days use drum triggers live? Are there some statistics somewhere? A link to info on this kind of thing?

Seriously, why would there be a website saying that kind of thing?

I'm sure there are people here that could name some of their favourite bands that use them, I know for a fact that 30 Seconds To Mars do.

Ooh, that's 6 then.

yeah, what is one?

I'm wondering the same thing. Is it perhaps the same as a click track? Or does it just have to do with not using a drummer and using samples in stead?

I trigger is an electronic pulse thats sent from a small sensor attached to a drum to a brain that activates a sample sound that then plays through the PA. Every time you hit the drum, the sensor senses the vibration. You can put all kinds of sounds into the brain to be played through the speakers, but ofcourse most people just used really good sounding samples of the drum that was hit. So basically it provides a very consistent, cutting drum sound.

Do you mean a trigger pad?

yup it's called a D4 or a D5 you put the pad on your drum and in sends the signal back to a processor
if you can't be a good example
be a bad warning

Friends, applaud the comedy is over.

I'd dance with you but...

a drum trigger basicly turns an acustic kit into an electic kit.

I think the drummer from fear factory uses them in the studio, but not live.
