Hey guys, wanted to know which wood has better sustain, alder or maple and id also like to see pics of their grain and i found it difficult to find them in google and shit... the setup of the guitar would be: 3pc neck-thru maple neck, Orig Floyd Rose, Emg81/81 then the body would be either of the two. and some gear or pedal effects tips to maximize sustain would be appreaciated.

Thanks

I got crap to do, okay? Counter-Strike isn't going to play itself.

maple has better sustain.

but those are both bright toned woods (especially maple) and would make EMGs sound extremly harsh.

try mahogany. its best with EMGs

you usually don't get choices like that.

anyways, neck-thoughs and maple are a great combo for sustain, i have one. the only way you would have better sustain would be to lose the FR, but that takes all the fun out of it.

Cheap amps are "that bad". They suck up your tone like cocaine at Kate Moss' party.
