I was recently digging through a buddy's basement to discover a 1964 Teisco Del Ray guitar that had not been played (or maintained, sadly) since its original purchase. I saw this junk guitar (with a selling price of $45) as an opportunity to customize/restore an old guitar for personal use. Among my plans is to switch out the bridge, pick-ups(both severely rusted and low quality) and convert into a baritone guitar (the guitar doesn't seem to play well with high-treble distorted tones. Plus I've been wanting a baritone). So mainly this raises 2 questions for me

1. Do I need to change anything in particular from a standard electric to a baritone besides the neck and pickups?

2. What do you guys know about Teisco guitars (durability, playability, prefered music style)?

Thanks
